This has been a tough year for raising funds. Funds from our
Annual Campaign, from corporate giving, from available grants,
and from individuals are all down.
We are aware that the economy plays a great part, but we also need
for everyone to realize the Center cannot operate on Love alone.
In July, we had a Fundraiser at Newport Rib Company where we
received twenty percent of the bill of those who attended; hardly
anyone showed up.We need the support of donors such as Newport
Rib Company. Help us support their generosity. We want to keep
our hours of operation and our programs going. We are asking for
EVERYONE, board members, staff, and seniors to knock on doors
of family, friends and people you do business with, to help this
great senior center, assisting not just with constructive criticism or
advice but with financial help. We know you care for the Center
and your help will mean so much to all of the seniors.
The first Monday in September in the U.S. and Canada is the
annual holiday recognizing working people’s contribution to
society. The Senior Center will be closed in observance of this day.

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and
warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk
beside the fire: It is the time for home.
